Title: Starts better without blue thing!!
Post by: Godzilla on 26 September 2006, 14:46
My Golf has been playing up as in starting for sometime. A few days ago whilst in Tescos car park a passer by said 'pop the bonnet' to which i did. He then unclipped a little blue plug  and said 'try now'......started straight away!! I thanked him and drove off. Question is what does this little blue plug do? It sits to the right of the engine bay. Does it need to be pluged in?

Sounds like the 5th injector. Its there to provide more fuel when cold. Sounds like your car is overfueling and flooding.

I belive its only purpose is for cold starts. So no you would not need it when running. Take a look in the mk2 child board for the post that shows you how the k-jet system works. Might explain things better and help sort the problem.
