-
yep. it stays on til the heat goes down..
-

-
mine never comes on, the temp never goes above the quater line. is this good or bad?
-
hmmmm.....
Lazy thermostat? i.e stuck open so overcooling?
-
that the one at the bottom right of the radiator?
-
yeah the one thats behind the pas bracket in front of the block
-
its to the left of the oil filter in a bracket thing, a pipe comes off it to the rad
-
thats summink I hated about my Fiesta RS Turbo, car could be boily hot and soon as you switch it off, off goes the fan and it starts cooking :(. VW, soooooooo much better :).
-
are we talking about the 2 sensors ontop of that plastic housing. Im lost :-\
-
nah the thermostat is a mechanical device that opens at a preset temperature and lets water circulate thru the radiator, therefore cooling it. it is found at the extreme bottom left of the engine bay to the left of the oil filter, it is in a pipe that bolts to the block
-
well i changed a thermo switch today which is basically a nut with a connector on it! and my mfa will always goto 100 degrees or just over half way..
one last thought remember to let ur engine cool down when changing these switches as the water that comes flying out is blooming hot :P
-
ohh thanx all :)

-
ok if the weather is better i will put some pics up so you can see where i mean
-

If you want to find the thermostat then follow the bottom radiator hose back.
