Hi
Friend of mine has an original MK1 Golf GTi.
He's looking for an Aluminium Strut Brace for the front.
Anyone with recommendations? Links would help also.
Thanks in advance.

I recommend fitting a lower front strut brace first, this is will stiffen the car up a lot more. MK1's are a bit weak in this area.
Cant recommend a brand, i have a rather agricultural homemade steel lower brace.

Thanks Manchester.
Anyone else with advice?

yep the lower strut brace is more important to get first than then the top front strut brace, as mk1 golfs really do flex without one. I've always had lower strut braces on all my mk1's it makes such a difference to the handling.

Thanks guys.
I will mention it to him.
What sort of prices are the lower struts.

Hi
I spoke to my mate and we both wondered where the lower strut goes?
Also can anyone give me ideas of prices or links.
Thanks in advance

I know C&R enterprises do the correct lower strut braces for mk1's - properly be 60-70 pounds, but you can find a few cheaper at other companies - do a MSN or Google search for - Mk1 golf strut brace
You will find lower, upper front and rear strut braces on ebay from a few companies but I'm not a fan of buying them as solid units, the adjustable strut are much better as you can then tighten then up to the correct lengths as per off production standards.
