Title: Mark 2 16v Driveshaft query

Does anyone know if the whole shaft (with cv joint n boot etc) from an 1987 valver fit a 90 16v? they arent different at all are they?

I know 90 spec GTI 8v shafts will fit a 90 spec 16v Gearbox if thats any help, I recon 87 shafts will fit no problems as well.

well I have in our lock up some 87 16v driveshafts and some 8valve ones to but not sure if they are 90 spec though! suppose its just worth a try. If worst comes to worst then I will just have to buy a new cv joint!

further to this i spoke to dubshack earlier who say that if the bolts are 100mm then it should fit no problems as some are 98mm i think. does anyone know if they are or not.
