Thanks for all the advice while ive been looking for my golf kids!! Went and put my deposit on one y'day and im collecting it on tuesday! 52 reg 130bhp gt tdi in silver. goes very very quick. 55k on the clock which means im gunna have to spend on the service in 5k. Ive heard anything between £400-£600 by a vw garage? The car was £8500 but i got £700 for my rover which is pretty decent and its got near enuf a full years M.O.T
Feels nice to own a real car at last!

Nice one, bet you can't wait until Tuesday.
Your next service will be the 60,000 mile one which includes a cam belt change so it will be a few £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£, try to shop around for prices or find a good independant specialist (or do it yourself). One thing not on the VW service schedule is water pump replacement but as you have to remove the cam belt to replace the pump, it makes sense to have it done at the same time - they do tend to fail.
Mine was just over 60k when I bought it so the belt was done but not the pump so I will need to strip it all down again soon to fit a new pump - nice job for a weekend (not!)

yeh i heard the pumps tend to fail on the seats and obviously similar parts so might aswel get that done at the same time to save hastle. going to ring round the garages 2moro to get prices. Yeah i cannot wait to get it. Got to start saving for sum nice wheels now....
