Hello all,
i've bought some mk4 style headlights for my VR6, person i bought them off, bought them for his mk3 1.8 Driver but never fitted them. They are brand new in a box
Now after i've bought them  some one has told me that the headlight wiring is different on the GTI's and VR6's to the rest of the range.
I dont want to try them as dont want to blow anything
Is this true??
is there a way round it?? or will i have to get a set that are made for the GTI's and VR's??

Yeah that's right, the plug on the GTI/VR6 is generally long and thin whereas for the rest of the Mk3s its more of a square shape. The wiring is exactly the same though. If you're any good with a soldiering iron your best bet might be to either swap the sockets over from your old headlights or get a set of connectors from a non GTI/VR6 golf (local scrappy should have some), chop your old ones off and connect them up.

Cheers for the reply.
i thought i'd try them anyway, and they fit!!!
All the lights work properly, the beam works.
I am going to see if they start popping bulbs every week then i know theres something wrong, but it will do for now.
Thanks
