what do you mean how do you rotate them?

when refitting the head, the marker dots on each cam should face each other

Thanks for replying Gambit.

What I mean is how do I turn the camshafts in order to align them, so I can set the head to the correct position for fitting to the block at TDC. Is it just a question of butting a socket on the Cam sprocket and turning? Or is there another way?

Cheers

aye just turn the inlet cam until you see the dots on either cam aligned to one another

one dot will be pointing @ 3'oclock & the other @ 9'oclock. once this is done then that is it TDC ready to refit

you understand what im on about??

Sorry Gambit I still no understand...

I am not sure where or how to turn it :)? Where is it safe to turn it and what do I use to turn it? I know I am probably making a mountain out of a mole hill here, sorry... :embarassed:

I have only experience with a SOHC engine, where you normally have a ridge in the centre of the cam, where you can safely place an adjustable spanner around the cam and turn it.

Cheers.
