Title: i need help with my clutch pedal

hi all.driving one day in my mk3 golf vr6 n reg,went to press the clutch and pop the pedal went to the floor.
it seems like a spot weld failure on a metal plate that keeps the clutch cylinder rod in place.
does any have the slightest clue on how to remove the pedal as i have to get it re-welded properly,many thanks.
