Title: blown dash light
Post by: Blue MK2 on 04 January 2004, 17:39
I dissconnected the oil temp sensor and the oil pressure sensor. Now the MFA light bulb has blown for some reason ???

Is this easy to replace, is it inside the clocks?

I dont want to take the clocks out to have a look coz im lazy :-\

Yes Blue you have to take out clocks afraid the bulb is on the back of the clocks push and twist affair same as the two on top of the clocks, easy enough job, speedo cable can be a bit fiddly to dis/reconnect  otherwise no bother..

You can buy the little osram style bulbs in main dealers, the ones stocked in halfords are different and wouldn't fit and in the end I had to buy mine in a motor factors.

As a guide the black based bulbs are 1.2w and the blue based versions are 2w.

The fun bit on mine is the heater control panel bulb has blown and its moulded in so you need a whole panel.

Looking into replacing them with blue LED's
