Title: Rear suspension top mounts
Post by: keithyboy on 19 September 2006, 20:07
When I took 'em apart I used my usual approach and had nuts and bolts ricocheting in all directions. Then I had to go out and do something else and now I've forgotten how it all goes together.

So far I've got the spring on with a washer under the top plate then the spacer on top of it with a nut on top of that. The bigger rubber mount is over the spacer. I've still got the smaller rubber, two nuts, two small plates and a big one.

I think the next step is to put the strut on the car then the order is:

small plate pointing upwards
smaller rubber
slightly bigger plate pointing downwards
nut
biggest plate
last nut.

Am I right? BTW HBOL isn't much help as the picture looks like it was taken from a helicopter and 5000 feet up.

If you have a Haynes, there is an exploded diagram. I can't remember the exact sequence as I did mine ages ago.
