Title: MFA query - Outside temp not working
Post by: 16v on 19 September 2006, 11:10
Hi,

My MFA has just developed a fault. The outside temp display has disappeared.

As you scroll through the settings, after "oil temp", it just jumps straight back to "time" and misses "outside temp" out.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

Coincidentally (maybe) I've just had a new Clifford Alarm fitted and it has only started doing it since then.

Sounds like the wire to the sensor has been cut or broken.

you can find the sensor inside the passenger wing, clipped into a hole just behind the bumper.

Shameless indeed!
I think all you have to do is take the wheelarch liner out don't you?

Don't have to do either, you can just reach up from under the wing to get to it.  Its a bit more tricky if you have big bumpers though.
Removing the liner will make it easier :)
