Title: FACTORY SPORT SUSPENSION FOR GTI / Mk.V
Post by: Hotshot 5 on 19 September 2006, 06:41
As I understand 17" wheel on GTI does not come with "sport suspension" which is 10mm lowered than normal suspension. If you opt for the 18" wheel then, the "sport suspension" comes with it as std equipment.

If I would like to order the "sport suspension" kit which consists of 4 lowered springs from VW. Does anyone know the #part number for this "sport suspension" only?

I intend to use Koni FSD shocks & factory lowered suspension kit. It seems that the factory sport suspension gives a good compromise on sporty driving & comfort. Thought about Eibach lowered springs but I think there are harder & also lower (20-30mm) than the factory ones. Furthermore, Apparently they do not have a lowered kit specifically for GTI. What they have is just a kit for Mk.V but can be used on GTI.

Didn't Fancy undoing all of VW's good work with the suspension so had morego's power grip wishbones fitted up front. They improve the grip with out making the car a pain in the bum to drive. You could also try some better Tye's?

Sports suspension (lowers the car by 15mm on GTi and 20mm on R32) is standard on all GTi's/R32's irrespective of wheel option.
