Title: Electric window problem.....
Post by: Savoury on 18 September 2006, 23:43
The electric window on the passenger side works fine for the most part, goes up and down ok. But try to close it and it drops back down 4" or so.
Only way to shut it is to hit the up button again just as it reaches the top, hoping its shut enough not to leak.

Any ideas???

Hi
take the door card off and have a good nosey (there's not much room) and have a look at the mech and try the window with this off, Hopefully this will give you an answer first time you do it.. and check ever bolt is tight that holds the motor and glass..

I'll take it apart this weekend, although not too optomistic  It drops back down on the motor rather than falling down by its own accord, so if that needs changing its not the end of the world I guess.

Probably the drive rods for want of a better term. Elongated cogs that move along and against the drive cog.
But if it is that then you have to replace the whole thing with motor and all.
