hello mate you could try bending the tabs on the metal and using glue or some other sticky substance

no ive found out its basicly one built onto the grill. so the metal wont fit over it! shame its black like the rest of the grill and my car is white!

hum that was a good waste of ?45  :'(

knightmare mate . should be quite easy to spray though . because white is a flat colour you should be able to use spray cans to paint it . get some wet and dry paper (fairly fine) rub down the plastic this gives the paint somthing to stick to . spray some plastic primer on it first let it dry . again gently rub down the primer to get a 'keyed' surface and carfully spray the whit in layers letting each layer dry . quick tip don't get to close to the grill with the spray can as i have found out it can run quite bad  :)

hum ive done enough spraying on my car to last a life time! ive had enough, specialy with all this wind about. my garage aint big enough and light enough to spray and outside the weather is to sh!t.

i doubt he will take it back now aswell.  :(

i didnt spray the one on this car. i made up a new designed mesh grill to fit it using original grill and a bit of fibre glass . but the b*$$&rd thing didnt fit the clips were in the wrong fekkin place . spent hours making it aswell . was'nt best pleased i tell you. who ever you got it off should take it back if you have your reciept and any packaging . if it is all ok you are in your rights to have a full refund

no it clips on to the car with no problems.

its just u cant clip the little strip of coloured metal onto the bottem of the grill becuase there are no holes for it to clip into.

might take awhile but you could use a dremel tool or something similar to make the slots you need. :)

lol not just holes, a complicated array of hooks and push in slots to fit the metal bit in and hold it there perfect.

hum. im gunna have to buy another one. hopefully the guy will take it back or i can sell it on ebay.

oh oh i understand now. lol. yeah best bet would be sell it on ebay or sling it through the classifieds. Give the bloke you bought it off a bell and see if he'll take it back. should do if it doesn't work after he said it would.

I would personally just spray it, less hastle and it will probably look better  ???
Title: Re:grill question
Post by: R1D3R on 05 January 2004, 20:33
yeh i contacted him and did sum research.

Like i said there is nuthing wrong with the grill! it is made to be like this so i cant really complain about a fault. These FK grills are more expensive than the standard ones. i just assumed it would have clip in slots for the white strip.

I will put it on as it is and see what it looks like.
ill try and find sum pics of cars with this style grill aswell.
it might look better than the cheapo ones in the end anyway.

if not i will sell!
