Title: Dial climate control change over
Post by: matinzk on 18 September 2006, 14:32
Is it possible to change over the dial climate control with a digital one?

How hard is the job gonna be?

very and extremely epxensive.

its not just the digital display you need.  you need loads of other bits and bobs.  and by the time you pay for all of them it would have been cheaper to buy a car with Climate control.

Stick with the manual A/C as they tend to be a bit more reliable.

What is it that makes the digital one unreliable?

its the assocaited temp gauge and monitoring systems that keep the car at the specified temperature.  Its a complex bit of kit and you hear more stories of the digital air con failing than the manaul A/C.

I toyed with the idea of changing mine until I learnt of the kerfuffle and expense it would cost.  I find it works perfectly well though. Plus when you come to sell your car you'll never make your money back.
