Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: Fade Out on 17 September 2006, 16:19
Hi all,
Well currently I own a mk3 astra... but as soon as I get my student loan im putting a for sale sign on it and wanting a mk3 golf. I quite fancy a 2.0 8v gti, how quick are these?, my astras a 1.4 8v which is abit crap. Do the golf gti's have a good bit pull?, My dads got a 1.9td golf estate and i love it, is the 2.0 gti quicker than that?
Thanks
Martin

hello and welcome

2.0 8v's dont exactly set the world alite but they are ok. If you can afford the insurance then have a look out for a 16v.

Hello

Mk3 gti 8v's aren't fast on the traffic light grand prix but they have a lazy torquey motor which is fun in  it's own way but compared to an astra you should be well pleased

Yeh well the astra's 62bhp and going by www.carstats.co.uk the golf is 115bhp so should be quite a difference!. Cant wait to get my student loan now so i can get one!
