according to parkers you should be able to fetch around 2.5K for it which is pretty good considering the age of the car
-
But that would be on the box standerd model right?
Not saying mines got alot of extras but theres enough i thought to add a decent amount to it...i can get pictures up as well if that would help?
becasue i need to be getting more than 2.5k.....
and im looking to by a gt tdi, the 110, 115, or 130 bhp, thats why i need to be getting more for this...cause i only want to put in about a G on top
-
yeah that was for a standard model with an average of 80,000 miles.............
no offense but you'd get more money for a standard car.
most people won't appreciate or even have the first idea of what you've added to the car unless they are a VW nut. MOst people will look at the overall condition of the car, how it drives and the service history, not how it looks.
You'd be better off returning the car to standard and selling your extra mods seperately thus maximising the value.
I'd also sort the door lock module before selling it too as people will only knock your price down if there is work to be done. People will knock you down becuase of the damage to the rear panel so you need to minimise how much they will attempt to haggle.
with your current budget you'd be looking at a 110 or a high mileage 115. 130's start at around 5-6K for a half decent example (unless you're lucky enough to pick one up at auction)

Fairly accurate guide here >>> http://www.vauxhall.co.uk Then hover over 'Owners'; then click 'Value Your Car'.

ok so i knock it back to standerd, fix the door lock barrel, cant be botherd to fix the rear panel, do you think £3k would be pushing it?
and with around £4k what gt tdi am i looking at you recon? and what would the differnce be bettween a 110 gt tdi, and a 110 tdi? thanks
-
3K is definately pushing the upper limits of what your car is worth I'm afraid
differences between a 110 and a 110 GT TDI is that the GT came with pretty much the same spec as the GTI so you got air con, bigger alloys etc as standard.
Have a look at www.parkers.co.uk for an idea of the differences between the two. There are 110 GT TDI's around the 4K mark, I believe a member on here picked one up earlier this year. Finding a good clean example will be the hardest part.
Good luck though

I paid £3k for my 1999 S GTI non turbo. Dragon green (i think) with full vw history 100k miles. it does have some minor cosmetics that you would expect, also it came form a Saab indie dealer with 3 months warranty and 12months mot

Hmmm i recon i could push 3 for mine then, ima take the gti lites off and the angel ones, and put it on at 3,100 and take 3000 for it i recon, cuz greens a cheaper color...and blues cheap aswell but sort after by some...cause i wanted a blue one etc etc
and i aint gettin a golf now i recon, probly get a 206 2.0 hdi, get it remapped and gti 180 spec =) all for around 4 grand lol
