Title: MK3 16V AIR FILTER/INDUCTION KIT
Post by: cris on 14 September 2006, 16:35
Hey fellow mk3ers

I'm looking to do a small mod to my 97 mk3 16v... looking for a bit more power, not really bothered about loud sound! was thinkin either an induction kit or a performance air filter. i know there's loads on the market, some good, some sh!t... any knowledgeable advice would rock!

If you're looking for a noticable increase in power then I'm afraid you won't find it with this mod.

Your best bet would be to chuck in a K&N panel filter and then get a good quality stainless exhaust system. They still won't set the world on fire but will make a small difference.

After that you could look at getting it chipped which has been known to take the power up by 20bhp on these engines.

i agree totally, my first mod was a k&n induction kit, sounds great but you wont notice any difference. put on a catback with your induction kit - milltek are very good! this you will feel a difference and your car will sound great
