Title: Mk3 Brake Light always on?

Hi just got a mk3 golf , but brake light is always on!  Checked fluid ok.  removed lead to  fluid level sensor and lead to hand brake sensor but still stays on!!  any ideas please thanks

Is it the dash light that's on or is it the taillight's...

dash light's sound's like knackered/stuck switch on the hand brake handle or if it's ya tail light's has to be brake peddle switch as monkeyalan states.....

Sorry,  its the light on the dash,, warning light.  I have removed the cable to the fluid resivior sensor and the cable to the handbrake switch but still stays on?  I also shorted out the cables (assume how the switches works?  and still stays on
