if i upgraded my 6x4 could i have 6x9 as well or do they run off the same wires , i've only got a 1.3 mk2 so i havnt got door pods so ive no idea about them , i'm also upgrading my dash speakers and adding a sub/amp

The best thing you could (just my opinion mind !) is convert the front door pockets to hold speakers, like these :-

Put a good set of components in, with the mid range going in the door pocket and the tweeter going in the dash. Get whatever sub and amp set up you want and then if you want some "rear fill" up rate the rear 6x4's to a good set of the same size. If you want to put 6x9 or even 7x10's in the shelf go for it but I think that if your running a sub and uprated 6x4's that would be plenty and it will all look nice and standard, sound nice and you wont have to make a MDF shelf or butcher your existing one :wink:
