Title: Nearly cried like a baby lastnight...... I miss my car................
Post by: Mk1Mad J - 16v on 07 September 2006, 11:35
Since my cars tax ran out at the end of July its been hiding from the evil DVLA car crushing squad in a garage up the road  the MOT ran out halfway through the engine conversion and it doesn't work now so I'm stuffed til I get it running

I've been checking the garage is still locked etc.. every other day but lastnight we had to go up there so Dave (Mk2madman) could dump his fancy twin fan radiator thing in there - its the first time I've actually seen my car since its been in the garage and as soon as I opened the door I started welling up  and the more I looked at it the more I wanted to cry, it looked so sorry for itself and I'm feeling seriously guilty now.

Is this usual? I always knew I was a bit too attached to my car but I never thought it would bring me to tears - not without being involved in an accident or something anyway.

Slick - I hope you know what you're getting yourself into

Surely this must be the kick up the backside you need to get it sorted then

My car has now spent 3 months of this year off the road. 2 earlier when the engine was being done and it's been a month now aswell...it's not a nice sight when you see it sat there

Still, think of how much fun it'll be when it's back on the road

i think I've had my Mk1 for about 3 years now and i haven't even driven it
I have just been let down AGAIN by someone who said they would be able to spray it and now cant do it. I wish i hadn't stripped it down and just used it as it was but there you go. Ive got all the bits i need for it, just cant find a decent bodyshop to re spray her

I'm feeling this pain too...my 16v Golfs been off the road since March (TAX / MOT expired and needed a bigger car at the time)and its sat there on the drive just begging to go and just awaiting a bit of cash and TLC...driving the family tank BMW just bores me to sleep (even with 211bhp - mostly required to shift its lazy fat ass of the drive!) and the wifes Corrado makes me miss it more

I think mine flipped me the bird when i left her in her retirement home for the long run.

I miss her like crazy, i haven't even missed a missus like i am missing my motor. (no wonder i am single  )

maybe i should go to bed, but the reason still stands, i miss my car like crazy, and it's only been 4 days.  :lipsrsealed:
