Title: Front Strut Replacement
Post by: keithyboy on 06 September 2006, 23:02
Another "Is HBOL full of......." Question.

I'm going to replace my shocks, springs and top mounts shortly and the section in HBOL says I need to under the ARB drop-link and the track rod end in order to get the strut off. Is this correct or can i just undo the top mount and the two bolts holding the strut to the hub carrier?

Whilst on the subject, are lowering spring caps any good and can they be fitted without removing the strut? I know this seems a bit odd when the struts need to come off anyway but I've got some -40mm springs but might want a bit more depending on how it looks when done.

There is no need to remove the ARB drop link and track rod end. You were correct with your method.

Dont know about the lowering caps, never seen or used any.
