Hi guys

Ive got a Mk2 8v gti i love it but i feel that there ain't  enough power so am planning to do a engine swap.

The question is which engine should i go for???

Mk4 1.8 turbo??

VR6??

G60 if i could get hold of one??

or may be something totally different.

Oh how much bucks would i be looking at to do this?

I think a G60 would possibly be the slightly easier option. There was a G60 engine fully rebuilt and detailed on ebay for around the £600 mark which I dont think is too bad to be honest. You would need the loom with that too though, not sure if that came with it.

Could prob do everything for a grand, brake upgrades, engine, loom etc.

I have a late 90 spec 8v and just want the Bottom end of a 2.0l Mk3 to pop on... How much do you reckon I could bag one of them?

Sorry for thread hijack... I dont think I could do something as crazy as puttin a G60 in my golf just yet I think the insurance company would yank my sack off
