Title: airbag light problem
Post by: spankyVR6 on 05 September 2006, 09:46
Last night I took my steering wheel off to straighten it up. When everything was back together the airbag light was still on, all the time. I started it up this morning and no airbag light at all, not even the three second check, nothing !!!! anybody know if disconnecting the battery will clear the fault or do I need to get it on VAG com or a fault reader/eraser?

cheers for any help

I think the only way to erase the error code and find the fault is to use VAG com or a code reader. I got a code reader off ebay for about £30.  Its saved me lots of dosh and has paid for itself many times over already.

Cheers mate, I got a code reader/eraser ordered from America on Tuesday night! For £17.50 you can't really go wrong. I've been meaning to get one for ages, but as usual I have to have a kick up the backside to get something done about it!
