i haven't found anything on this when searching so apologise if i have missed it..
i've had the door card off the beast three times in three weeks now  to fix the central locking.
the rod coming up from the solenoid(??) seems to be popping out of the little white plastic lug attached to the door lock pin.. i'm wondering if the solenoid is a bit stiff would it be pulling the rod out at the top quite easy (seeing as it's only just bent through the hole in the lug)..
what do you reckon peoples?? new solenoid?? new rod, lug thingy??
james

the white tab should have 2 'arms' on it which will stop the rod popping off, its hard to explain but you'll see what i mean when you look!
-
think i know what you mean rj, might have been a bit heavy handed with it a while back when i replaced the lock :embarassed: think i'll have a look in the "for sale" section for a repo :smug:
should the solenoid feel fairly stiff when moving it though??

it will have a bit of resistance yeah!
My last 2 mk2s had the cl plasic bit, even though neither had factory cl so it looks like any MK2 will have the bit you need :)

cheers matey.. you've saved the day again

You could just superglue it on.
-
the white tab / little white plastic lug thingy is currently superglued onto the door lock pin / arm, it seems to be the rod that keeps popping out from the hole that's the problem.. :undecided:
has anyone got a diagram of this they can put up so i can be more precise??

I know what you mean, just had an idea: if its only the bottom tab thats broken off, swap the arm over from the other door? I don't think they are sided...
Then the broken tab will be facing up on the passenger door, and since the lock knob isn't under much pressure it shouldn't pop off as easily...
Hope that makes sence

Mine was the same when i did mine, i know its not standard C/L fitment, but it might help :) I popped self tapping screw through the hole thats there, which pulled them together, and stopped it from popping out :)
