hello, help!!
I have a Mk2 golf gti 8valve of 1989 vintage (pb i think) and the engine is dying fast. Im not too bothered about fixing it because it has over 188 thousand miles..
Now i have my eye on a 2 litre 8v passat engine... will it fit and what will i have to do? Any information will be really great!!
Also anyone want to swap my scirroco scala wheels for anything else? its in the parts section!!

Which passat is that out of, do you know what engine code ?
It should fit, cos it's probably the same block as the Mk3 Golf 8v engine.
I'm guessing that to change over you'd need to change an engine mount or two, possibly the gearbox and clutch and maybe the wiring loom too.

If it's the same engine as the mk3 8v then as far as I know mounts etc are all the same, same gearbox can be used, wiring looms the same, you can use your mk2 head on it (slightly more power) if your head is in good enough shape.
