Title: mk3 aerial problem
Post by: neil_1821 on 01 September 2006, 23:30
My mk3 golf has a silly ariel located on the side of the wing, it's been bent and wont go in and is only partially extended, is it possible to move it to the roof, if so will it be hard or expensive?

Or would it still be possible to get a radio if i took the aerial off and put it up the side of the wing?

anyone??

Also it's developed a hissing noise when i put the clutch in and release it although i think that's the clutch wearing out because the bite point is right at the top.

Fitting the roof aerial isn't too hard. You just need to drill a hole in the roof and thread the cable to your radio, remove the wing aerial and fit an aerial blank (easy found on ebay). I have done mine as my wing aerial seized and it didn't look pretty. regarding your clutch does your car have a hydraulic clutch or good old fashioned cable, If it's cable your clutch cable needs renewing first and if no better it is clutch time but if hydraulic and it's making a noise I would check if it's losing fluid before condeming it.
