My standard and presumably genuine big bumper has seen better days; the paints flaking off and the textured part has seen a bit of action too!
Looking at GSF and Euro Car Parts, they do both genuine and replacment items but with a massive price difference.
Do the cheaper ones have a satisfactory fit (even with a bit of messing about) as a genuine one after paint is gonna be an expensive exercise!

GSF ones apparently fit well, but I have no idea if they are the same as the ECP ones. Given the choice I'd wait for a second hand genuine bumper to come up in the right colour

I had the GSF ones on my old Red MKII. Fit was easy but my only complaint was that the edge of the bumper that buts up against the rear of the car under the badges wasn't very even. It wa sslightly warped and therefore the gap was a little uneven in places.
For the perfectionist gor for OEM.

OEM all the way

Get OEM ones from a scrapper. My GSF ones are very good but you can tell they're not genuine, the finish just isn't 100%.
-
Jeez i hoped you lot were not gonna say that!
Any photos to compare them?

My friend has a GSF front big bumper.
You can see it in the VW realted section, in my threasd called 'Photoshoot..'

I believe my car has non-genuine bumpers, the front isn't too bad but the back droops like anything
