hi does any1 know of any good mobile window tinting???

Depends on where you are from.
However legal law has changed so now you cannot tint the front half of the car, only the rear. The police have the power to stop you now and tell you to remove the tint right there and then. There are no limits to the tint on the back.

Hi. Around my area theres no one better than RPB TINTS.
They do the window tinting for all the main dealers like, Mercs, BMW, VW, Audi, Volvo, Landrover and so on...... That means if you was to buy a BRAND NEW car and you ordered it with privacy glass its likely it would of been done by US!! :smiley:

Getting mine done at Pentagon in Reading it's way to far for you and they only do cars you bring in not mobile sorry, for what it's worth I've been told they are S/Hot and looking in their album there are loads of £50k plus motors so I think I'm in safe hands!! Mind you I'll post again if it's a rubbish job!!
Good look on you hunt. Just out of interest what are you going for? I have a MkV 5 door in black (black interior) going for light smoke on the front and smoke for the rest.

cool, that sounds good do you know if you can have like very faint tints on the fronts liek a grey sort of colour or do they have to be completely clear?

So I've been told by Pentagon I can get away with light smoke on the front, anything darker and the cops can pull you over and get you to remove it on the spot!! Bit harsh in my book but what the heck, the rest you can have what you like but I'm not a fan of "cargo" look so I went for smoke so there isn't to much difference.

Spooky me too, ok I'll try and get some pics when I get it done so you can see the difference, like I said I'm doing light smoke on the front two and then smoke on all the rest, at least it might give you an idea of the finished look.

Just popped down to Pentagon in Acton, looked at some cars with light smoke on the front and smoke on the rear, looked good. you only seem to be able to tell the difference close up and its minor. Still not sure if I want it different on the front and back, i.e. might have light smoke all over, so its even and doesn't look too pimp.

Ok it's done light smoke all down the sides and smoke on the back, a good job was done and they even want it back in a couple of weeks just to check it's dried out ok so they get a big thumbs up.
Light smoke is difficult to see on a MkV the windows are already blue tint so you do get some improvement but not much, I took the supaglass in the end so it's a bit thicker and looks (to my eye) a bit darker, still I got what I asked for so no complaints.
Hope yours (Julie, 2007GTI) come out as well as mine, sorry no pics as yet.

I got my windows tinted by Pentagon in Acton, very good service. I went for light smoke all round and I'm happy. However I had to go back because they "had a bad batch of film" and two of the windows needed redoing. Paid £360 (with 20% discount) + VAT.

sooo easy to do yourself tbh . i used to fit signs for a living and window tinting was one of the things i did , what you need is a roll of window tint , a sharp artist knife , a plant spray bottle (lil hand held manual spray ones) and a window scraper or a proper squiggy (used in sign making , its a piece of plastic not much bigger than a credit card) . then remove the window rubber trim for sidewindows (fit to the inside of glass btw) and cut a rough size of window tint to fit larger than the window itself , fill the bottle with water and a couple of drops of fairy liquid (not to much!) then peel the tint off backing spraying the sticky side as you go , apply it to the window (make sure you clean the windows well first!)
then slide it around till its in a good position , then holding it with your fingers in place work with the squiggy from the centre outwards gently pushing all the water out till its nicely stuck to the window and leave to fully go off. any small bubbles (there shouldnt be any if done properly) can be pierced with a small needle and push all the water out to remove, after its dryed on (a few hours is normally enough) trim the edges with the knife and replace the rubber trim. job done. rear window often needs two pieces to do , put one piece on then once thats dry over lap another piece and trim along a heater line through both pieces with sharp knife to make the join. if done well you wont see the join :).

i tinted my windows myself, it was difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it, its easy peasy. I took the glass out first. I did it all with the crappest cheap and nasty "Max Power" film from the wholesalers @ £2 a roll.
Front window tints, regardless of tint are 100% illegal, they changed the law in 2004. Only way you are allowed them is if the car was factory fitted as standard with that level of tint. Mine are tinted at 60% I think, hard to tell really - but its way too dark at night, a right pig to drive. I'm going to remove the tints as they are just annoying me now. I think if I just remove the fronts it may look a little retarded.

No one reputable will come to you to fit tints - they prefer to do it in their workshop, where there is minimal dust and therefore a better finish.
