Hey guys, what's up ?
i have a golf 2 oettinger, i looked everywhere on the web to find pics for it and engine performance and what not but turned out with nothing
can anyone help ?
thanks
-
It could be a standard UK mk2 with an Oettinger kit on but that would have been done aftermarket. Didn't buy it off ebay did you? Ebay sellers are the masters of sticking some badges on and calling it a 'special edition'.....
The french had Oettinger model golfs, definately a mk1 not sure about a mk2. If so yours would be an import and would have had a RHD conversion done at some point.
Info on the Mk1 http://www.faltdach.net/vwgolfmk116s.htm
Any pics or other info?

 that looks like a rallye with an odd grill (and a few other bits)
where are you from?
-
funking ugly grille lol
and it needs slamming and rimming to make the most of that oettinger engine.........
-
its an oettinger grille.. and lol @ "it needs rimming"
-
yep its the fundamental starting point of any car modification. slamming and rimming.........
hehehe not jenna jameson rimming either lol
-
it's a lot different then the rallye man grill and lights
plus the body kit is much wider and goes higher then the rallye
i'm from lebanon man
we have around 6 or 7 that i know about and i haven't seen anyone that looks like them on the net
no engine specification nor pics
it's a bit strange actually that no where exists such a car
anyways this it
-
tell us about your engine then!
wasnt dissing your car you just need to lower it a touch lol
wats the interior like etc?
-
yeah i figured it was a body kit. to be honest it looks like a bit of alot of stuff so i doubt it left the factory like that. the oettinger engines were cool though..
-
if i can i would make it kiss the ground but the roads are full wholes and speed bumps
if i lower it a little further it'll hit the ground every 5 seconds
it has a 1.8l 16V modified engine, sport springs, professional exhaust system, recaro seats ...
and about the rims i would change them to 16 inches but chrome are expensive and knock-off's so what's the point ?
i wish i have pics of it b4 i inserted the vinyls to show it 2 u
but it's an original oettinger anyways
-
Nice one! Is it the Oettinger engine as well?
-
U bet...
-
f**k the bumps mate drop its arse on the ground....
thats what im gonna do when i saved me pennies for coilovers lol
-
Trust me son, u ain't seen what the roads are like over here
they r like ddaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmnnnn
-
well i have the m25 as my playground lol......biggest car park in europe!!
get some photos of your engine up us geeky golf lot wanna see it!!
it best be a gold plated oetinger mind..
-
I'll try 2 add some pics soon for y'all....
-
is there a plate to signify its an oettinger 16v engine?
only oettinger 16v's i knew where mk1's
in mk2's ive only seen oettinger G60's and they where 190bhp
-
i think in the mk1 the oettinger engine was actually an oettinger head and inlet etc whereas on the mk2's and corrados they tuned the original engine

my mate had an oettinger mk2 for a few years, the car was converted in 1986 by gti engineering at a cost of over £6k (think about it, £6000, 20 years ago = a lot of dosh!!) it also had thier RE:2000 conversion and was rather a potent bit of kit. he bought it from the late john jones' family after john's death, john was one of the uk's best engine tuners.ÂÂÂ
unfortunately the car was written off in his driveway a couple of months ago while he was asleep in bed, he was gutted to say the least, the car was then sold through a trade salvage auction a few weeks ago for the measely sum of £440
here's some pics

-
that's the engine alright
but sorry to say (i know u all are a bit pissed of me 2 say) but the body kit is different
as soon as i get clear pics of the body, i'll post them
i heard of a 6 cylinder, 2.4L engine for the oettinger also. does it exist or just a myth ?
