....and it's also gonna be my track day car. I've always been into Vauxhall and have been searching for the perfect track day car for over 6 months. Well my mate bought a G reg big bumper Mk2 (also for track days) and I decided to go the same route.
I came across this site in search for knowledge on building a track day car and on Golf's in general so thought I would pop on and say Hello and thanks.
So here's my baby. I bought it today, it's a 1988 F Reg Golf GTi 8v in Silver (not too sure on the colour name). It has no Tax or MOT (My mate had to drive it back on trade plates) and has 180k on the clock. It needs a new tail gate, new centre exhaust section and a few bits and pieces but not too much. Engine is strong and pulls well and it came with the Borbet style alloys as shown below. It's the style just before the big bumper version but not the earlier style as it has the full pieces windows. I got it for £175 in the end and the car's chassis is straight as 9all original stickers). Only 2 previous owners and the guy I bought it off has had it 10 years. Anyway here's a few pics of it in it's current state.

Cheers for the welcome, I'm looking forward to this project. I'd use my current car for the track however it's my Family car. Even so it's a 195bhp Vectra V6.
