Just fitted one to my 8v digi GTI and noticed hardly any difference apart from running lumpy (which sounds great!)
anyone else fitted one and got any advice?
I'm thinking vernier pulley may make a little difference?

will shift your power band up the rev range a bit. u given it some stick yet??
-
Getting it timed up properly with a vernier pulley should help matters.
-
yeh given it plenty of stick but it ain't alot quicker! only really notice it in third gear!
where's the best place to buy a vernier pulley?
-
Not sure to be honest, there are some other people who run non-standard cams on the forum who will be able to advise you better than me! In the meantime have you had a search? There might be a bit better info about getting cams set up properly somewhere.

i've got a 285 but with a vernier. yeah its lumpy but i'm surprised you don't notice any difference. mine pulls alot harder at about 4k onwards!
-
must be the vernier that I'm lacking then!
-
i had mine on the rollers with a standard cam and pulley and it pulled stronger and smoother than the gs2h kent i fitted! the standard cams are good and even better when dialled in dont expect massive gains..
-
Getting it rolling roaded with the vernier is the way to go.

Thanks for the advice!

get the timing checked, easpaecially the ignition timing! Remember the digi gti needs the ignition set to exactly 6 degrees BTDC, at 2k-2.5k rpm with the blue temp sender disconnected!
