if it was close to saveable as an original without too much work i'd say keep it standard,
but if quite a bit needed doing to return it to its original glory....modify!

at the end of the day as cool as a restored classic car is it doesnt say nefin about ya personality and it doesnt have a uniqueness to it

modding is good

Modify everytime for me. Makes the car more personal and yours. You can always keep things period but just brought upto date.

I had a similar dilema with my Mk1 Escort as I was going to put throttle boddies on in place of the carbs. Its still what I want to do but soem folks say it takes it away from original. But you can always swap it back??

Go for it...
