where is the noise comming from? If the rear its your fuel pump, if from the engine it may be the pas pump.

noise is from engine bay, i'll have a look at the oil level in the pump, otherwise if it's noisy is it knackerd??

depends how noisy it is?
You could take all the anxilery belts off and run it briefly, then refit one by one to help you narrow it down :)

It wouldn't be a bad idea to check the cam belt tensioner these can some times get noisy, and eventually can seize up with expensive consequences

some garages skimp and leave the original tensioner on there!

Too true
I'll pop the covers off and have a look after work, but it doesn't sound like a tensioner, had that before on my old car, normaly sounds like a rattle, this sound only becomes noticeable when it gets warm.
