Picked up my mk2 GTI (8v) from the garage last week where it was in getting the clutch and gear linkage bushes replaced (among other things). The clutch now feels much better but have discovered another few problems instead. When I select reverse gear it always crunches no matter how quick or slowly I seem to select that gear and am also having issues selecting gears (really have to force it into gear and feels like it catches before it eventually engages). Am obviously going to have a word with the garage and see if they can have another look at it but am wondering if anyone here knows what might be causing the problems?
Am not sure if both problems are linked but am thinking that the alignment might not be set up right?

Without the tool its a bit hit and miss getting it set up right. With the tool its a 2 min job. Well worth the £5!
