Title: Whining noise??
Post by: mk2driva on 26 February 2003, 22:18
I have recently noticed that when i reach 45/50mph a whining noise starts to come from somewhere :-/ I think its the left handside of the car but i aint to sure. Unfortunatlely it only started after i had a little incident with a verge :'( twit that i am >:( The steering has been knocked out of alignment so i could possibly have bent sumthing there. ( i have a mk2 1.6 driver)

Usually if you kerb a car its the track rod that gets bent, hence the need to get the tracking done to avoid excessive tyre wear etc. I can't see that causing your whining noise. Maybe you've damaged the wheel bearing  :( If you're lucky it might just be something minor like your brake shield has bent and is rubbing the wheel ???
