Title: New boy!
Post by: tonygti on 27 February 2003, 12:25
Hi all,

Just thought i'd logon and say "hello!"

Question: Does anyone else have a problem with passenger side wind noise? (Not a joke)

I have got a MK2 GTI 8V, (91/J), 3Dr, and over 30MPH I get a god almighty racket coming from the passenger side front pillar. I have checked the door rubber and that looks good, so I have no idea where it's coming from.

Any ideas???

Cheers,

Tone.

Hi Tone,

Welcome to the forum  :)

I once had a car that after it was broken into (by prising up the window seals on the passenger door) made a right old whistling noise. That would have just been the fact that the seals weren't quite doing the job! If you have checked it all out though...

I suppose the aerial is just in front of where you are talking about on a 8v. Lower that and see if it does the same. If you are getting desperate I guess you could even remove the door mirror from that side to see if that is related.

cheers,

jv

Whats your door alignment like? If thats poor, the airflow can be upset by that too.
