Hi , i posted before but no success due to the subject name i think. Basically , my gearbox is leaking from the driveshaft seals , i was wondering if that is the correct name for the part, i am looking on VWspares, gsf but cant seem to find anything of the same name, was wondering if anyone can tell me the correct name for the part i am talking about..
also, what is the capacity of the gearbox for gearbox oil?
car is a 91 mk2 16v golf
thanks

You may find that the seals are a VW part only, i.e, not available as a pattern part. But don't dispare, VW aren't that expensive. And as for the oil it's about 2-3 litres, and you'll know when it's enough as it'll be dribbling down your arm!

Drive flange oil seal, and the gearbox take 2.1 litres of oil, however 2 litres will be enough as there will always be a bit left in the box.

Thanks for the info, is this available from any online place like gsf, vwspares etc.. ? if so, could someone point me to the right part URL .. so i dont make any mistakes , i can then order it..

Best to ring GSF or Euro Car Parts and ask them.
