Does anyone know if it's possible to stop the doors automatically locking after the 15 second period on a MK4 (2000 GTI (1.8T))?
It's when you unlock using the remote and then don't open one of the main doors within a set duration, they tend to lock them selves again.
I can just see the scenareo, I unlook the doors, open the boot to put the dogs in, put the keys down on the boot floor, the car locks and I don't notice and close the boot. Keeys inside locked car with two hungry dogs! The keys won't last long in that situation.
Can this be changes with some clever remote button pressing or can a VAG COM reprogram this behaviour?
Thanks
Ed

my car only locks itself after a 30 second period if you don't open the doors and or the boot.
opening the boot stops it locking itself.
VAG COM is probably your best bet :undecided:

This is part of the alarms thatcham catorgory I think and dont belive it can be changed, if your car is re locking after you open the boot, then it means your boot switch is fecked.

Mine stopped sensing the hatch door being open. The boot light would come on but not the door open light on the dash. The hatch switch has 3 connections, boot light, door open sensor and earth.
I got fed up with the car re-locking after putting stuff in the boot so swapped the wires over so it would sense hatch being open but not operate the light - must get a new switch though!
