Title: Help with headlights

I need some assistance in getting this little conundrum sorted...

I have an '89 16v and managed to snap the wiper stalk the other day trying in vain to get the windscreen washers to work  :rolleyes:

Anyway, thought it would be an easy job, just get a second hand replacement, pop the steering wheel off, swop it over and all would be well with the world once more.

Not the case............Wipers, washers, MFA all now work lovely, much better than the old snapped stalk but I now have no main beam, or is it called dipped beam can't remember which, but I mean the beam that illuminates the blue lamp on the dash.

Indicators are fine, all fuses are fine. Side and normal lights work fine, just no flashing available. Thought it might be the wiper stalk, so replaced this again and this time when I put the headlights on the main beam (blue light on dash) came on all the time and wouldn't go off, so I put the other one back again and back to square one with nothing.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check you have not pushed a pin out the back of the connector that goes onto the stalk.
