Hi I know you cant say until you've seen but I'm going to look at an early Mk2 1984 A,first owner for 20 years, garaged, looked after, elderly and the second guy has owned it for 2 years he replaced the clutch 6 months ago and he says it's tidy, standard small engined and only 46thou on the clock so whats it worth cheers..Rob

it's worth what you're willing to pay for it. I wouldn't give more than a few hundred quid for a 20 + year old base model mk2 no matter how good a nick it's in. the low miles don't really mean anything unless he can prove they're for real.

How much does he want for it ? Then I'll tell you if I'd pay it.

Hi it's a 1.3 Golf c white zero rust little bit of wear inside and a few small dings outside carb needs sorting and engines a little bit dirty but other than that it's very tidy so not sure if i should sell it on or up rate the engine, brakes.suspension and have a sleeper..Rob

How much does he want for it though ? Conservative estimate at £200 - £400 max.
Firstly white cars seem harder to shift and secondly if you uprate the engine then it doesn't matter that it only had 46k on the clock as you've now taken out the engine.

Hi he was offering it in p/x so i wanted to make sure it was worth it and it was so now I've got an excellent Mk2 shell that I'm possibly gonna turn into a GTi without looking like one as my 1.8 16v needs engine work so I'll end up taking the bits off that and look out for a 1.8 16v in the future or just sell it on,not sure..Rob

i really dont see the point of buying a non gti and making it a gti. the insurance will be mad and why build wat u can buy? u may aswell buy a gti and make it look not like a gti and stick ur engine in it tbh

go for the low and slow look slammed on some nice dished wheels
