Title: Replacement wiper arms

Hi, Does anyone know where I can get replacement wiper arms for my 88 Mk2 8v GTi. All the paint has come off the existing ones and they look bad. I'm not after a single wiper arm or anything like that but would happily put different arms on. Does anyone know if arms from other models fit?

you need pre 90 MK2 ones, later MK2 arm splines are a different size!
For the rear you can fit a smooth arm from a fiat punto(?)  You just need to drill it out slightly for a snug fit.  Its at a greater angle too so sits nicer if you lay the rear arm flat :)

i have two minters that should fit yours..

..courtesy of mr rj - they didn't bloody fit my splines  :laugh:  i seem to have big splines on a pre 90 spec  :huh:

oops!  Looks like it must be a late 89 thing then, they came right off my F plate driver.  And yep indeed they are mint which is why I kept them.  Shame they didn't fit my 90 GTI!!

Best thing to do spiderman is take one of them off and measure the hole at the top of the arm, then gti jim can compare & let you know if they'll fit :)

Rubjonny, I see you have a rear wiper arm for sale. I'm after one of these too. Do you still have it?

gti jim, I've measured the wiper arm splines. They are 6.5mm at the top 8mm at the bottom. Does this match what you have?

i got the trusty ruler out last night and the spline appears to be 6.5mm at the top and 8mm at the bottom.

being lazy and not removing the wiper arms of my beast - what are the 90 spec measurements??
