I dont no where i was readin this might of been on here not sure but can you get 1 years ncb for insuring a car for 6 month fully comp and then insure it again for another 6 month and get another 1year ncb :-\
-
it's called a bonus accelerator plan.
Elephat.co.uk do a 10 month one. They're the only one I've seen and certainly not a 6 month one.
-
yeah i think you read it on here. that was me ;D
My mate had the 6 month one on his car but it was something like ?1200. In the long run its worth it.
.....Ohh and no he didnt recieve the bonus because he drove like a nutter and made me crash into him (see gallery)
If you decide to get the bonus scheme, will it be worth it? are you a nutter driver? lol
-
im with elepahnt they were cheaper by miles! i got there accelerator plan and it is interchangeable with other insurers, so you cant get 'locked' into one :)
-
what insurance company is the 6 month one with
-
admiral who im with for both my golfs do a 10mth bonus plan, never heard of a 6mnth one before!! :D ::) ::) ::)
-
duno what one but my mate went through insurance brokers if that helps
-
i have tried 4 places now norwich union, liverpool victoria, elephant, tesco and non of them will quote me on a mk2 8valve would they give me a quote if i phoned up i tried direct line but there to expensive about 3,500 they quoted me that was with passplus aswell
-
try Brentarce on 01792 650933
they're welsh, but good. I just keep adding mods and they don't increase the premium ;D
-
have you got a no claims bonus yet on the car you are driving?
They will quote you if you ring them but it will be silly prices like ?3000+ and thats just thirt party :o
Has any of your parents/brothers/ sisters got any claims bonuses?
If they have then get an insurance quote with them as the main driver.
lets just say..... Father has 6 years no claims,
You have one years no claims with a pass plus,
Total Fully comp with elephant.co.uk = ?2000.
This is a rough guess
-
i got 0 years no claims i am on third party fire theft at the moment and i got no brothers or sisters my mam does not drive n my dad wont let me says i hav to do these things on my own lol :'(
-
when I was 19 I had a 5dr mk2 gti, totally standard with a cat2 imob and I was with Tangent. I was paying ?1450 TPF&T (they added ?50 when I switched to my current golf cos it was a 3dr. I told them it was standard too)
I wouldn't advise you go with them as they're complete f**ktards, but if you want to take a chance to get a NCB then they were the cheapest. Just don't try and make a claim.
Just try everyone. HIC do some good deals, but you'll have to settle with TPF&T until you get some NCB built up.
Always best to go on your own really. NCB makes a load of different to your premium.
-
Tough love. lol
I dont believe in that 'on your own' lyric. as long as your insured, its good for me :-\
Tell him he can drive the GTi aswel, then watch his face...lol :D
-
I got the Elephant 10mth bonus accelerator too.
BTW, Admiral own Elephant.
I got my premium down by putting my parents on as named drivers with me as the main driver. Cost me ?700ish for fully comp on my Mk3 GTI 16v with zero no claims. ;)
-
so you can get bonuses with TPF&T?
Didnt know that ???
-
how old are you 16v fan?
-
I'm 23 and until May last year I had 1 and half years no claims on my old Mk2 1.8 GL, then a minor crunch and decided it was time for a GTI, so I bought my Mk3 GTI 16v.
When I bought the old GL, I was 21 with zero no claims and TPFT cost me ?1300ish with Endsleigh (was a student at the time).

i doubt he would want to drive the gti because he never liked his 8 valve much he prefers mk1 gti's he said there nippier in acceleration he was not into goin flat out just go down country tracks n stuff
