Get the passat chipped, uprate the suspension.
You'll forget you ever owned an 8v...

Apparently the Passat being a 1.8T Sport has uprated suspension? seems a bit spongy to me, but yes now I got a 20valver! 8 seems a little too few!
Still love her though

Standard VW suspensions are sh!t on mk3 and mk4 apparently. The standard kit on my vr6 was as soft as a knackered mattress. It was one of the first things i changed. To improve the ride get some eibach springs, no more bouncing everywhere.
I believe you got the 150bhp? a chip will take you to 180bhp.

If you still believe the 8v is a nippy motor, then go and try a vr6  ;D

My mate had a VR6, fast as f*ck!
I was a passenger once at 145mph!! effortless power.
Dont reckon I'll be chippin or messin with my other car though, I'll soon have too many mouths to feed!   I'll have to make do with 'only' 150bhp!    ;)

congrats on the sideways action. I've been trying to provoke the tail on mine for about 6 months now, have found if you're willing to be brutal with it, you can get some serious action out of it. And they say Mk3's didn't handle.............

Btw, next time it snows or you are on the continent in winter, trying cornering too quickly with snow chains on. Now THAT is some oversteer.
