Finally got myself sorted out with a Photobucket account, so here's a few photos of my new Golf (plus a photo of one of its predecessors).ÂÂÂ
The Golf may not have the performance of the Evo 6 but it's still quick and certainly a lot easier to live with!

Nice Golf - nice job.
Prob won't come a surprise but I used to have a ralliart Evo 6 - awesome car but boy do they know how to charge for parts and labour - prob the dearest running costs of any car I've had
96 YES 96 miles to a full tank in attack mode!

looks great straight out the factory! Am i right in thinkin its one with out dsg!?!
-
Your right with that one golfpro, the DSG looks like a normal auto stick.
-
You're right Golfpro; it's the 6 speed manual box. Nice smooth change; very happy with it. Extras are the 18" wheels, leather interior and 6 disc in-dash autochanger. You'll also have noted the Road Angel Compact, which I bought after being nicked by a camera (the notorious "30mph for no reason in the middle of nowhere" one at the Crowood Hotel outside Glasgow) at 2.00 am coming back from holiday last year . Essential bit of kit these days!
I know exactly what you mean about the running costs of the Evo, Doc with 18 mpg and the 4,500/6 month service intervals but the performance/handling was awesome for the money. I enjoyed mine a lot but the Golf is better built, more practical and doesn't loosen your fillings round town!

nice golf they look so good in black and nice evo too  a guy i know had a tommi mak ed evo 6 in red, that was superb
-
 Yes I agree - mine was doing 15 mpg on a good day - ha ho
Enjoy your Golf its a bute and your right about the camera detectors we all need 'em!

:sick:the notorious "30mph for no reason in the middle of nowhere" one at the Crowood Hotel outside Glasgow
Hi johnny A,
I know what you mean about that road, i am from kilsyth were are you from?

Hi Scotty
I live up North in Aberdeen and I know a lot of people that have been caught by that same camera as, at night and when you don't know the area, it doesn't even seem built up!
When the camera went I knew I was doing around 60mph and thought I must have been in a 50 or, at worst, 40 limit. Got a real shock when the NIP arrived and it was 56mph in a 30! I was happy to get only a fixed penalty and 3 points; could have been much worse........
