Title: Things needed for a 16v swap??

Could someone plz write me up a basic list of all the bits i need b4 i make a visit to the breakers yard to carry out both a 1.8 16v and 2ltr16v engine swap into my 1.8 8v Mk1 GTI. Would also like to know the best engines to use??

You basically need everything connected to the engine under the bonnet, and the full wiring loom + ECU & relays

DO NOT BUY AN ASHLEY EXHAUST - they are as sh!t as sh!t can be!!!!!  :angry:  If you're handy with a welder (or even if you're pants like me) Grab the downpipe & manifold off the mk2 and you can have a perfectly fitting, near factory exhaust instead  :smug:

 :embarassed: If it goes anything like my conversion you might want to keep hold of your old engine - I'm one problem away from fuc&ing the whole 16v idea off, ripping the engine out and going back to the 1600cc 8v  :cry:

Oh no gibby lol, not that dreaded thread again, tried reading it 3 times now and it makes my head spin, information overload! All i need is a straightforward list of all the bits i need then my mechanic will do the reast.. Thanks mate.
