Hi Guys,
been trying to get the glove box out for about 30 mins now, taken 7 screws out in total but the buggers just not moving, is there some hidden ones or something?
cheers ::)

Glove box light? or does it come out from behind not thru the aperture if you know what i mean!

yes its a pain in the ar$e that one took mine out earlier in the year to fit my changer,if I remeber right the glovebox wedges itsselff on the air vent ducts as u try to withdraw it, take out the two bolts either side of the dash and think theres a couple behind the glovebox area in the engine compartment on the bulkhead this then gives u enough movement to pull the dash forward then pull the glovebox out..or something like that :)

Haynes manuals - worth their weight in err lead - but they're usually pretty good at explaining how to take bits apart..

it doesn't tell you in the haynes though afaik
there's a lump on the top of the glovebox that stops it coming out unless you have enough of an angle. to get that angle you have to remove heating vents I think. When I was removing the whole dash the glove box wasn't free until the dash was actually in my garage!
the mk3 one is so much easier it's unbelievable.

mk3 dash blah blah blah ::)
always 1 step ahead.......

I love it when it gives you all the no brainer stuff than tells you to contact the main garage if it doesn't work. lol. If I wanted to take it to VW I wouldn't own a Haynes manual. Bently by far better.
