ive just sussed that the golf mk4 gear knob with the gaiter is an exact fit onto the mk2, just wondering if anyone knows if the mk5 goes on too?
-
yeah but the mk4 knob doesnt screw onto the mk2 gear stick? i have a mk4 gearknob and gaiter and it doesnt fit onto my stick as the mk4 doesnt have a screw design it a push click fit. if you know of something that i dont let me know fella as i dont know how im going to fit the gearknob yet.

yeah same here bt my mk 4 knob was tight enough to just push down over the threads nd give a bit of a thump nd it stays tight, next problem is the mk4 gaitor isnt big enough, it fits roung the surround great but as soon as u push the knob forward to change gear it pulls off, cutting the gearstick down doesnt wrk either cos its the distance between say 1st n 2nd thats the problem, hard to understand untill u try and youl c what i mean.

from the factory the MK4 knobs have a jubilee type clip around the plastic pit on the bottom of the knob to hold em on :)
