Title: golf gear knob / gaitor

ive just sussed that the golf mk4 gear knob with the gaiter is an exact fit onto the mk2, just wondering if anyone knows if the mk5 goes on too?

yeah but the mk4 knob doesnt screw onto the mk2 gear stick?  i have a mk4 gearknob and gaiter and it doesnt fit onto my stick as the mk4 doesnt have a screw design it a push click fit. if you know of something that i dont let me know fella as i dont know how im going to fit the gearknob yet.

yeah same here bt my mk 4 knob was tight enough to just push down over the threads nd give a bit of a thump nd it stays tight, next problem is the mk4 gaitor isnt big enough, it fits roung the surround great but as soon as u push the knob forward to change gear it pulls off, cutting the gearstick down doesnt wrk either cos its the distance between say 1st n 2nd thats the problem, hard to understand untill u try and youl c what i mean.

from the factory the MK4 knobs have a jubilee type clip around the plastic pit on the bottom of the knob to hold em on :)
