I have a 2.0l 8v, engine code AGG and I am curious as to a certain part
Just behind the air intake box there is a small part attached to the front wheel arch by rubber mounts. It has hoses going in one side and out the other which I think are passing air through it
I am under the impression that this tests the air running through the engine and possibly feeds the ecu info on what air to pass to the engine but I am probably wrong
If this is the case I would assume this can be adjusted in some way
Sorry if this sounds like an odd question but I have ongoing problems with the car and am trying to eliminate every bit as the cause of the problem and I thought seen as the bad running is going to be linked to fuel or air in some way that this little peice may be causing me unknown problems
If someone could explain what it is (if I have made any sense) and also if it needs setting.adjusting what those settings are that would be great

I think its called a carbon collector or something .

So do you think it needs adjusting at all then?
It does have an electrical wire coming off the top which suggests its doing something but the only adjustable part is the bottom which rotates, dont know whether this actually adjusts anything though
