Title: Runs for about a second

'90 MK2 8V (digifant)

I was driving along and then the engine stopped!  I have replaced the Fuel pump relay - no good. I have tested two other idle valves - no good.

Any ideas!!!!    This weekend I shall be checking that fuel is actually getting through.

Then I'm out of ideas, short of replacing every electronic component.

Sounds like your lift pump in the fuel tank, (Not the main pump, Although, have you checked this?) they do tend to go all of a sudden. There not expensive and only take about half an hour to fit, Just don't smoke whilst doing it.
